wish ppl understood the power nowadays in not giving something attention. things today are so focused on attention and reaction and #memes that the best way to shut literally anything down is simply not give it exactly what it wants. like you arent going to own that bigot on twitter youre going to boost their original message whether thats your intent or not and you arent just playing with ai for shits and giggles you are giving it free learning and data. just stop engaging with things that dont deserve it
i think “just some guy”-ifying everyone in fandom is so powerful like truly we are all just hanging out on the internet. perceived social hierarchies based on like, follower counts and other social media statistics are constructs and we dont have to abide by them. even the ppl who make fanworks you enjoy are just some guy w a hobby. not to say that everyone is gonna be your friend or anything but they COULD be. like, why not!
on this too – and this puts me in a place to look cocky but im gonna say it anyway. but its just as awkward to interact w strangers as someone who has a good amount of followers as it is for anyone else! and maybe this kind of makes people seem unapproachable? and that’s not everyone obviously but i’d bet many fandom types fit this mold. so again.. just some guy but w social anxiety lmfao
